Adults aged 40 years and over who have not already been diagnosed with high blood pressure are eligible for a free NHS blood pressure check at participating pharmacies.
Younger adults may also be offered checks if clinically appropriate.
You can book an appointment online or walk in during pharmacy opening hours. Booking is recommended if you prefer a guaranteed time slot.
The check is quick and simple:
You’ll sit comfortably while we measure your blood pressure using an approved monitor.
If the result is normal, we’ll give you advice on maintaining healthy levels.
If the result is high, we may take a second reading and discuss lifestyle advice or refer you to your GP for further assessment.
The whole process usually takes 10–15 minutes.
Try to avoid caffeine, smoking, or vigorous exercise for at least 30 minutes before your appointment. Wear a short-sleeved top or loose clothing so we can easily access your arm.
